Hi, I’m Angus Hervey

If we want to change the story of the human race in the 21st century, we have to change the stories we tell ourselves.

The news doesn't tell us what's happening in the world - it tells us what's going wrong. It captures sudden events, but misses gradual transformation. As a result, vast waves of progress - from declining poverty to advancing clean energy, from disappearing diseases to expanding conservation - remain invisible to most people.

I've spent a decade documenting these quiet victories. I've spoken at over 500 events, including three appearances at TED, telling the story of how millions of people around the world are coming up with solutions to the big problems of our time.

Every week, I track the breakthroughs, discoveries, and achievements that you never hear in the mainstream media, and share them with tens of thousands of people around the world. These stories prove something profound: that even in our most challenging times, humans are capable of extraordinary things.

My work is informed by the belief that amidst our very real challenges, progress is happening. It’s just that most people don't realise it.
